Position Title: Human Resource Business Partner

Location: Aurora, IL

Job Overview:

The Human Resources Business Partner works closely with field, corporate employees and leadership to provide strategic advice that helps drive Aftermath’s business objectives, goals and regulatory requirements. The role also will be responsible for understanding the business, improving the workforce and workplace along with delivering exceptional service to internal customers. This person is seen as a functional and strategic resource. This role reports to the Director of Human Resource & Talent Acquisition.

Main Responsibilities:

 

  • Work closely with management and employees to retain develop and motivate people to achieve their fullest potential.
  • Address and resolve employee relations concerns by investigating issues discreetly, evaluating the situation and providing advice, guidance and leadership on the path forward.
  • Provide consultation on workforce planning, leadership and employee development, organizational design and compensation.
  • Drive the people processes (performance, development and career) to ensure that employees’ level of performance and capabilities meet current and future standards.
  • Implement HR policies and reward strategies to ensure that all reward decisions are fair and objective.
  • Provide expert advice and coaching to managers and employees where appropriate.
  • Support a talent lifecycle approach to proactively diagnose talent needs and build aggressive plans to identify, engage, assess and onboard the right talent for the need.
  • Ensure all recruiting, on-boarding, promotion and exit activities are well planned to deliver seamless, well supported transitions resulting in continuous improvement in organizational capability.
  • Ability to manage and resolve complex employee relations issues. Conduct effective, thorough and objective investigations.
  • Work closely with leaders and employees to improve work relationships and build morale.
  • Provide day-to-day performance management guidance including coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions, FLMA, ADA and Workers Compensation Management.
  • Identify training needs for departments and individual coaching needs, including performance review management.
  • Collaborates with leadership to provide HR guidance when appropriate.

 

Basic Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field and/or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Human Resource
  • Demonstrated ability to build long-term, trusting relationships with all levels of employees and with HR colleagues to gain support and achieve results.
  • Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills, including facilitation of difficult conversations and discretion while handling confidential information.
  • Proven success and desire for managing multiple projects throughout the day, exercising strong judgment in determining priorities, leveraging others if needed to achieve results.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
  • PHR and/or SHRM certification preferred
