Indoor Science is the nation’s leading industrial hygiene consulting
firm. We have served clients across multinational corporations and
government entities including NASA & US Military. Our services
include testing indoor environments and recommending corrective actions.
Job Overview:
We are seeking a senior sales consultant to support the growth of our
business in three ways 1) Proposal development, sales, and client
follow-up, 2) Project management (developing and remotely managing
projects), and 3) Field work (team-based or independent project
execution including field work, report delivery, and invoice submission).
This is an experienced level role, and the ideal candidate will have
strong self-awareness and know how to develop and maintain strong
client relationships. The candidate will utilize problem solving and
critical thinking skills to identify strategic solutions to clients’
environmental quality and occupational health concerns. This
individual will have proficiency in distilling complexity and
summarizing recommendations.
Field work will be performed at clients’ project sites, typically
located within the Chicagoland area. Our local offices are located in
Aurora and Chicago. This role will require the candidate to work from
one of our offices, unless in the field, and will report directly to
the Chief Business Officer.
Main Responsibilities:
- Sell services with technical accuracy, concise language and
emotional intelligence
- Proposal development and follow-up to convert opportunities into jobs
- Identify ways to support clients through adjacent instrument or
lab testing services
- Project management to ensure services can be executed across our
62 field offices
- Deploy and/or refine training collateral to standardize project management
- Perform environmental quality and occupational health consulting
services across a variety of commercial and residential settings
using a combination of instrument and analytical testing
- Maintain, calibrate, and use of various instrumentation and
sampling equipment
- Act as a subject matter expert for all matters related to
industrial hygiene services, including chemical, particulate,
biological and physical contaminants
- Accurately interpret sampling/measurement results, draw
conclusions based on assessment findings, provide recommendations
for corrective actions, and guide clients to appropriate solutions
- Develop high quality deliverables such as reports,
recommendations, drawings and specifications
Basic Qualifications:
- 6+ years of experience in environmental or industrial hygiene
consulting (Preferred), HVAC services, Mold remediation, building
inspections, construction management or facilities management
- Experience scoping and selling projects
- Experience working within guardrails of processes or ability to
develop standardization
- Proficiency in Microsoft office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Physically able to crawl, climb and walk on uneven surfaces and
tight spaces
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with CRM systems
- Experience leading or managing a team
- Experience and / or relationships with building owners, property
managers or other commercial clients
- WELL / LEED experience or AP designation
- ACAC Council-certified Indoor Environmentalist (CIE),
Council-certified Indoor Environmental Consultant (CIEC), or similar
professional certification preferred
- State licenses for hazardous building material assessments and
inspections (asbestos, lead-based paint, radon, mold)
